About  PebbleSense:

PebbleSense is an innovative medical device start-up dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor health and continuously predict the onset of medical conditions, particularly for marginalised groups of people.
Our inaugural product, is the Pebblemat, has been engineered to be placed beneath patients in hospital beds to monitor the patient’s inflammatory status, measuring temporal and spatial body variations. Our mat will be initially used for the early detection of pressure ulcers as they licit an inflammatory response at the skin's surface and by using our AI algorithms we can predict their onset before skin damage occurs.

 

Role Overview:

We seek an experienced full time Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join our team. As an Electronics Engineer, you will be instrumental in the ongoing development of our sensor mats that generate crucial data for our AI-driven healthcare solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, testing electronic components, construction and quality control. You will work closely with a team that includes clinical physicians, data scientists, electrical engineers, firmware and material engineers to produce the next generation of data driven healthcare solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a masters degree in Electronics Engineering, a PhD is preferable, with a minimum of two years work experience.

  • Previous experience in the development of sensor systems for various methods for human physiological monitoring.

  • The applicant should have demonstrated experience in developing products for hospital environments.

  • Proficiency in working with flexible circuit designs.

  • The applicant must be competent in utilising electrical design and simulation tools (KiCad).

  • A comprehensive understanding of analogue and digital circuit design, power electronics, control systems and signal power integrity is essential.

  • The candidate must be competent in C and python programming.

  • The candidate must also have experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD).

  • A history of independently producing a product.

  • Familiarity with ISO standards and electrical design and safety regulations is necessary.

  • The applicant should have an innovative and problem-solving mindset and be able to contribute creative solutions to technical challenges independently of senior input.

  • A keen interest in AI development within the field of healthcare
